Kimberly Meyers is a licensed psychologist who joined the Greater Baltimore Counseling Center in 2009. Previous to her work in private practice, she worked as a School Psychologist for inner city youth for 7 years. Here, she enhanced children’s use of skills like anger management, social skills, self-esteem, and anti-bullying skills. She also has extensive experience in the assessment and diagnosis of childhood disorders such as learning disabilities, ADHD and emotional disorders. Dr. Meyers joined GBCC to extend her therapeutic practice with other populations. In addition to working with children and families, she also has an interest in working on women’s issues, divorcing families, depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems and goal setting. Dr. Meyers primarily uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach and helps clients to discover behavioral patterns that tend to repeat that may cause emotional discomfort. She also employs mindfulness strategies to decrease stress and cope with anxiety and depression. Dr. Meyers is currently facilitating two counseling groups. The Girls Group serves children from 12-18 and focuses on adjusting to the many issues that can arise during this critical life period. The Kids Group serves children from ages 6-10 and focused on Social Skills and other coping skills like anti-bullying and anger management.
