I work within an integrative framework that enables me to provide a custom approach in order to maximize your ability for change and progress. Depending on the presenting problems, stage of life, and goals, I use a variety of therapeutic methods (e.g., supportive, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, insight-oriented). I provide a safe place in which to freely express yourself, take time to reflect, and become attuned to your own feelings and needs. In this environment I can give you feedback that you can accept and use to make positive changes. Often therapy also includes a psych educational component; skills that were previously underdeveloped are learned and practiced (e.g., anger management, communication between couples or between parent and child, social skills, anxiety-reduction strategies, parenting strategies). I also provide supportive therapy for people who are processing crises or experiencing difficult stages in life.
