Steven Berkowitz - I am a Licensed Psychologist who views my role as therapist much as a collaborator with my clients to help them find the tools and techniques to manage various aspects of their life, be it their jobs, people, family, or their own health. How we perceive our environment helps us better understand how we interact with our environment. Understanding is often the first step toward managing our lives more effectively. I have been working at GBCC since April of 2008.
I earned my Master’s degree from Catholic University, and a second Master’s and my Doctorate from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. I am a retired Army Clinical Psychologist and have worked with a wide range of clients and problems, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, stress management, as well as family and relationship issues (including military deployments). I also specialize in health psychology problems, such as chronic pain and psychological issues related to medical illnesses and am a consultant on a nationwide clinical trial on cardiac surgery.
