Courtney (Cori) Cole—I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who joined GBCC in March 2010.  I studied Psychology as an undergraduate at the University of Central Missouri, earning a Bachelors degree in 1999.  I later completed my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at Towson University in 2006.

I take an eclectic approach to counseling, employing humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and insight-oriented interventions.  I feel that the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the therapy process and I work to provide a safe environment for people to explore the issues that brought them in to counseling. I work with people to identify goals and make changes that are meaningful and important to them.  I strive to empower individuals to make their own choices and changes, from the perspective that we are all responsible for our own health, happiness, and well-being.  I believe in the relationship between physical and mental health and that by cultivating one, we improve the other.

I specialize in working with individual adults on issues related to depression, anxiety, relationships, self esteem, stress management, and adjustment to life’s changes.  I have experience working with victims of domestic violence and take an equality-focused approach in relationship counseling.
